My excitement for the trip overrides my anger and sadness from last night. Today, I just let the road take me. The ride is long, and the wind’s whipping me. It’s pulling my hair from the loose braid that I put it in. My ass starts to go numb right as we slow down for a pit stop.

“I need food,” I exclaim.

My fingers tighten on his abs as we slow and pull into the gas station. Across the street, I can see a little diner. It has a blue metal roof and an old fashioned sign hanging out front. My stomach begins to growl. I need food almost as much as I need him.

The vibrations from the bike have me all kinds of worked up. I feel almost like I was sitting on a vibrator. Sighing, I take another look at the gas station, and for a brief moment, I contemplate asking Knox to take me to the bathroom that’s accessible outside.

Knox’s lips press gently against mine as my arms wrap around his neck. Heaven, this is what it feels like, what it’s like to be in heaven.
